One of Apple Vision Pro's coolest experiences is now available in Canada!
I say "experience" because What If…? An Immersive Story created by Disney and ILM (the creative studio that was founded to support the creativity needed for the first Star Wars film) exclusively for the Apple Vision Pro really is in a category of its own.
For a limited time What If...? An Immersive Story will be free for Canadians to experience.
It fits somewhere between animated film, video game, and choose your own adventure.

What If The Show
In the TV series streaming on Disney+ called "What If," viewers go on a journey of alternate realities from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (what if Peggy Carter was actually the first Avenger? What if Starlord was a villain instead of hero? What if Thor never had a brother or sister?)
What If On Apple Vision Pro
Similar to the popular TV series (which now has two seasons streaming) fans will experience alternate Marvel realities across the multiverse broken up into a series of chapters. The experience takes about an hour to work your way through from start to finish.

You'll be using gestures to support various marvel characters from across the MCU in a quest revolving around the Infinity Stones, finding familiar heroes and villains throughout.
First-hand Impressions
Without spoiling too much of the fun, I gotta say What If is one of the most unique experiences you can have on Apple Vision Pro.

In much the way that Immersive Videos feel like their own genre of entertainment (if you're unfamiliar with these they are ultra realistic experiences which include putting you in a rehearsal studio with Alicia Keys or on a slack line traversing the Norwegian fjords), What If definitely feels like it's own entertainment category and something that would be amazing to see more developers replicate.

Imagine taking a beloved book series and experiencing the story alongside your favourite characters? Or hopping into a familiar land from a video game and tackling a sidequest making you feel like you're really there?

There are so many different types of experiences you can have with Apple Vision Pro. Entertainment is probably the most common use case right now for the average person. But for productivity and connecting with friends and family there's a lot to offer. I call out some of my favourites in the YouTube video below:
What If…?An Immersive Story is a great way to showcase the possibilities of Apple Vision Pro when creative minds give us all a taste of what they can do with this technology.
Oh yeah, and for a limited time Canadians can play for free!
