When you're toting toddlers and all their gear, you're dragging around a lot of cargo. In the early months (year or two?), the stroller is the go-to.

But at some point, you'll see a rival parent rocking a utility wagon packed with kids, a diaper bag, picnic basket, toys, and everything else that just doesn't fit nicely into the underseat storage of the stroller.

This wagon is turning heads on every family outing. Find out why!

I've had the Litheli E Wagon for several months. Whether you decide to go with this exact one or not, this article is going to have some helpful info as you embark on your utility wagon shopping adventure to choose the right one for your family.

What is an E Wagon?

The utility wagon I have is from a brand called Litheli, and the most unique aspect of this particular utility wagon is that it is, in fact, an E wagon, not a regular wagon.

By squeezing the handle, the wagon's powered wheels are activated.

What's an E wagon, you ask? This thing is self-propelled. It's an electric wagon, running off of portable batteries. By squeezing the handle of the wagon while you pull it, the wheels automatically turn. If you've ever used a self-propelled lawn mower versus a traditional push mower, you'll know how much of a difference that makes.

Translating this feature to the world of parenting, it means if you load your kids on board and all of their stuff for a trip to the park or the beach, you're hauling everything in one shot. We've used this for trips to the grocery store with our twin boys and have had plenty of room for 60 pounds' worth of toddler and several days worth of groceries.

There's no problem operating this as a non-powered wagon (you can pull it just like any other utility wagon), but once you get used to those self-pulling wheels, it's a pretty sweet way to get from here to there!

Litheli Electric Wagon Best Features

It is so entertaining to my wife and I how many people comment on this wagon. Other parents on the playground see us trundling cross-country and notice we're flying across the field with ease, so they come over and check out the wagon. It's a great ice-breaker to make new parent friends!

Between the physical design and the enhancements of an electric wagon, there are a few notable features of the Litheli Electric Utility Wagon worth pointing out:

Adjustable Speed

Everyone's walking pace is different, and you can dial this wagon's speed to match yours. On the handle, a spinning collar can be adjusted up or down to control how fast or slow the wagon goes.

Collapsible

Thanks to a large pull handle in the bottom, this whole wagon collapses into a more compact form. This is great for storing it in between uses to free up space in your garage or shed. It's also helpful if you're throwing it in your trunk.

Personally, I didn't find it too heavy to load in a vehicle, but that's because I'm used to the weight of a double stroller. So, to me, I was surprised it was as light as it was, though a non-twin parent commented that it was heavy to them. For the record, it's just about 35 pounds.

Swappable Batteries

This wagon is battery powered, and the battery lasts a long time (we've done a 60-minute roundtrip to the grocery store and back and still had battery to spare). However, if you do run out of battery, you can keep a spare one topped up and then easily slide it into the wagon to keep on trucking.

Bonus: if you're in a pinch, you can also charge your phone off of the wagon's battery (though, not at the same time you're using the wagon, due to the placement of the charging port on the battery).

Bonus x 2: There's a whole bunch of other products made by Litheli (snowblowers, lawnmowers, and various power tools) that these batteries also work with. There are pros and cons to getting "locked in" to a shared ecosystem, but this could be an appealing feature for some.

Having an extra battery on-hand is so slick!

There's a package with the wagon and one battery and another package with the wagon with two batteries. The price fluctuates a bit, but, in general, don't waste your money buying the wagon package that includes two batteries on Amazon. It ends up costing more than buying one extra battery on its own plus the wagon that includes one battery.

Litheli Electric Wagon Worst Features

Overall, I think this wagon is great, but since I have a section of this article called "best" features, I figured I need to include one called "worst" features, too, right?

Short handle

My biggest gripe is that the handle isn't long enough. This handle collapses into itself for storage (great) but when extended to its full length, I feel like I have to reach a bit lower / further back than I should.

Other wagons on the market have more telescoping points, so the handle can be longer or shorter depending on the "driver" of the wagon. I am 5'10" and feel like I have to walk closer to the wagon (so, it occasionally hits my ankles) or have to change my stance to operate this with ease.

It's not a big enough hurdle to stop me from using the wagon at all; it's just on my wish list that it was a tiny bit longer. And I feel like if you're "tall" (more than 6 feet), this could be problematic.

Adjustable Speed

I did just list this same feature in the "best" section, but if I'm being super picky, I feel like top speed isn't always fast enough for my top walking speed. And, on the flip side, the slowest speed sometimes feels a bit too fast if one of my toddlers decides they want to walk next to the wagon, while his brother stays inside.

I wish there was just a tiny bit more oomph for when you need the speed burst and an even more leisurely mode for those slower moments.

Egg Roll Table

If you get the "egg roll table" accessory (a roll-top wooden cover), you have to install these clips to hold a bar for the table. No big deal. But for the times the table's not in use, those clips stick up and are kind of in the way. They're not sharp or anything, but I suppose in the context of using this to pull around toddlers, there's a chance they could get their clothing stuck on something like this.

If you do get the table, in addition to a wagon, you'll have a portable table for picnics or maybe a mobile work or activity table. However, the table can't be conveniently stored inside the wagon when not in use (without taking up far too much space. It does, however, come with a storage tote bag.

This simple roll-top table adds further utility to your utility wagon!

So, something to consider: if you get the egg roll table, it'll be cool for a portable picnic table, but those clips will be prominently part of the frame when you're not in tabletop mode (which could be most of the time).

The Verdict

While it's a bit more pricey than a standard wagon, having an E wagon is really nice to have. Even if you're not constantly activating the powered function, for the moments when you need a little extra traction to move cargo, the Litheli E Wagon provides plenty.

Powered Wagon

Litheli Electric Powered Utility Wagon

With the collapsible design, easiliy swappable, multi-purpose batteries, and the general ease of use, it's easy to recommend this powered e wagon to parents who are looking for something that will help them haul their toddlers (and all of their belongings) for family outings.

This wagon is collapsible, which is key for storage and transport. Since we're used to a double stroller for our twin boys, to me it seemed relatively small and lightweight. However, a parent who was used to a stroller for just a solo infant commented that they thought it was heavy to lift into the back of their vehicle.

Taking kids anywhere requires hauling lots of stuff. This wagon makes it much easier.

While adding accessories, like the egg table and spare battery, slowly cause the price to creep up, I'd say getting the wagon plus an extra battery will be a welcome addition to many households that have little tikes with lots of gear who like to go from here to there.
